Spaic breaks 34-year-old school record

Bulldog throws team grabs three top-five finishes on Friday.
IRVINE, Calif. – It only took one day into the outdoor season for Fresno State to see a school record fall. With a throw of 173'-8"/52.93m on her fourth attempt at the UCI Spring Break Collegiate Classic, junior Vanja Spaic broke the 34-year-old Bulldog record which was held by Faye Roblin (172'-8"/52.64m). The mark currently ranks No. 1 in the NCAA this season.

The Bulldogs' throws group also claimed two of the top five spots in the women's hammer throw. Yazmin Torres finished third with a more than 28-foot personal best at 168'-11"/51.50m while Aisiah Tuiasosopo was two spots behind her in fifth at 168'-6"/51.37m.
