Frenso, Callif. - Pitcher Tom Graham threw his second complete game of the year for the Bulldogs as they defeated TCU, 7-1, on Friday night. The win was the Bulldogs first victory this year in the Western Athletic Conference and snapped Fresno State's four-game losing streak. The Bulldogs overall record improves to 8-11 and their WAC record moves 1-3.
Fresno State got on the board first when second baseman Jeff Prieto was hit by a pitch, then scored on a double by catcher Anthony Simioli. Simioli moved to third when first baseman Brandon Gemoll reached on an error. Both Simioli and Gemoll scored on a two-out double by centerfielder Tony Guzman.
The Horned Frogs would get their only run in the top of the third after Eric Mocha tripled off Graham and then scored on a single. Graham tied his career-high with 11 strikeouts. In the eighth inning he retired three batters on three pitches.
