Fresno State Volleyball Makes It Four in a Row

San Diego, Calif. - Fresno State has strung together four straight victories and captured its fourth straight win over San Diego State with a five-game marathon over the Aztecs in non-conference action. At 6-5 on the season, the Bulldogs won the first two games and the fifth game to record a 15-9, 15-6, 8-15, 14-16 and 15-13 win. Leading the Bulldog attack was senior OH Anamie Buckelew who tied her season-high of 24 kills and hit .366 (24-9-41) with eight digs and three total blocks. Sophomore MB Shauna McQuaid added 19 kills and hit .441 (19-4-34) with a season-best five block assists and season-high seven total blocks. Freshman MB Lindsay Closs chipped in 12 kills and posted a season-best three block solos while recording her seventh 10+kill match. In addition, sophomore OH Kristin Pierpont had a career-high 17 digs and notched her third 10+ dig match on the year. Fresno State will meet the University of San Diego (8-2), which also has won its last four straight, tomorrow evening.
