Swimming Takes Fourth at Season Opener

FRESNO, Calif.- - The Bulldogs finished fourth and took three top two finishes at the Pacific Invitational held in Stockton, Calif., Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 and 14.
Senior Summir Case took second place in the 100 backstroke (58.62). Case posted two in-season team top times for both the 100 backstroke and the 200 backstroke (2:10.23). Junior Jesie Lewis posted two second places. Lewis took second in the 50 freestyle (24.62) and the 100 freestyle (52.76). Lewis set in-season top times for those events as well as in the 200 freestyle (1:56.93). Senior Jennifer Brown posted a life-time best swim in the 1650 freestyle (17:31.45) and posted sixth place in the 500 freestyle (5:03.95). Freshman Greer McGettrick started her first season off strong, posting an in-season top time in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.08). The 'Dogs finished with a team total of 656.5.
Pacific placed first in the tournament with a team total of 910.0. Washington State took second with 772.5 and Nevada took third with 707.0.
The 'Dogs travel to Colorado to face New Mexico on Friday, Oct. 20, and compete in the Colorado State Swim & Dive Invitational Saturday, Oct. 21.
