Fresno State Men's Hoops Rallies To Down Pacific

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Chris Jefferies and Dennis Nathan each had 12 points to lead Fresno State to a 66-55 victory against Pacific Thursday night.
Fresno State (4-1) rallied from an 11-point deficit with just over 15 minutes left in the game. Nathan scored all 12 of his points in the final 12 minutes.
Pacific (3-2) was led by Peter Heizer with 14 points. Mike Preston added 13 for the Tigers and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Fresno State shot just 38 percent from the field in the first half and then missed its first six shot of the second half as Pacific opened an 11-point lead. But then the Bulldogs got hot and took control with a 23-3 run.
Pacific opened the second half with a 10-2 run behind Heizer's five points and a three by Maurice McLemore to take a 41-30 lead before Fresno started its comeback.
Preston came off the bench in the first half to spark a 16-3 run, giving Pacific a 24-17 lead with five minutes left in the half. Preston scored 10 of the points, including six in a row to finish off the run.
Fresno came back late in the half and cut the lead to 29-28 before a basket by Cockle gave Pacific a 31-28 halftime lead.
