Fresno State vs. Rice
Feb. 27, 2000
North Gym - Fresno, Calif.
--- The win by Rice was improved its all-time record against Fresno State to 6-2. It was the first time the Owls have ever won in Fresno.
--- Lindsay Logan broke the Fresno State single-season assist mark when she connected with Channan High off an inbounds play with 14:46 left in the first half. She broke the old mark of 169 held by Wendy Martell, set in 1987. Logan had seven assists in the game and improved her season total to 176.
--- The Bulldogs struggled mightily in the second half, making only five field goals. Only one player, Tiffany Lewis, had more than one field goal in the second 20 minutes. FS ended the game shooting a season-low 32 percent (16 of 50).
--- Tiffany Lewis was the lone Bulldog to score in double figures. She had 10 points.
--- Rice shot 50 percent from the floor, snapping a streak of seven consecutive games in which Bulldogs opponents had shot under 50 percent. Coincidentally, the last time to shoot 50 percent or better against Fresno State was Rice, which was 56 percent in the first meeting of the year on Jan. 27.
--- Tiffany Lewis had eight rebounds and moved into 10th place on the single-season rebound list. An average week next week at San Jose State and Hawai'i could move her close to the top five.
--- Rice's Jenny Cafferty had another good game against Fresno State. She went 4 of 5 from three-point territory and has gone 11 of 13 from beyond the arc against the Bulldogs this year. All of Cafferty's 33 points against FS this year have come on three-pointers.
--- Fresno State had 20 turnovers in the game. It marked the 10th consecutive game the Bulldogs have lost a game in which it committed 20 or more turnovers.
--- The Bulldogs' four-game losing streak is their longest of the season.
