#7 Bulldog Softball Drops Nightcap to #2 Arizona

March 14, 2000 FRESNO, Calif. - With a game that combined for six errors and 16 hits, #2 Arizona ended up on the winning end after scoring two runs in the top of the 10th to pull out a 3-1 win over #7 Fresno State in the nightcap. With the game tied at 1-1 through nine innings, Arizona scored two runs on two hits as Fresno State committed a fielding error to give the Wildcats their first run. Sophomore southpaw Kristen Hunter kept Arizona off balance through much of the game despite giving up nine hits. In the 10th inning with one out, the flood gates opened after sophomore third baseman Lindsey Fossatti allowed Nicole Giordano to reach on an error. UA's Katie Swan then got on base on an infield single to the shortstop Alicia Dowland. Wildcat Toni Mascarenas then singled to left field to score Giordano for the go
