#6 Fresno State Softball Capitalizes in Five Innings

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State picked up its 29th win on the season with its fourth mercy run-rule game on the year after collecting a 9-0 victory in game one. On nine hits through five innings of play, the Bulldogs put a run on the board in the second inning before exploding for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth. Senior right-hander Amanda Scott pitched her fifth one-hitter and struck out seven en route to her 15th shutout and 19th win on the season. At the plate, all the Bulldog starters had a hit except one as sophomore second baseman led the way after going 2-3 with a run, double and three RBI. Sophomore third baseman Lindsay Fossatti went 1-1 with a run and knocked in two for the Bulldogs. Scott, who entered the game three RBI shy of breaking the Western Athletic Conference[
