Tennis Teams Lose in Semifinals of WAC Championships

FRESNO, Calif. -
The men's and women's tennis teams both fell one point shy of advancing to the finals of the WAC Championships today in Fort Worth, Texas.
The No. 11 men's tennis team lost to No. 13 SMU 4-3 today in the semifinal match.
The deciding point came from SMU's Dustin Mauck victory over No. 32 Peter Luczak (Jr., Melbourne, Australia) 6-7 (3), 7-5, 7-6 (8) on court No. 2.
The Bulldogs began the match by winning the doubles point with wins on courts Nos. 1 and 3 but were only able to win two points in singles with wins from David Mullins (Jr., Shankill, Ireland) and Nick Fustar (So., Cupertino, Calif.).
The No. 38 women's tennis team lost 5-4 to No. 27 Tulsa in the closest match of the women's bracket so far.
Tulsa's victory came on court No. 2 where Aleksandra Durska defeated Kandiss
Creighton (Sr., Weldon, Calif) 6-3, 6-0.
With this win Tulsa improves to 20-4 on the season while the Bulldogs fall to 14-8.
