Diving Garners Six Top 20 Placings At USC Invitational

LOS ANGELES - The Fresno State diving team spent the past three days at the University of Southern California, for the USC Diving Invitational. The Bulldogs' trio composed of freshman Ashleigh Raley, freshman Lindsay Paulekas and sophomore Nicole Recupito collectively earned six top 20 places.
The final day of competition featured the platform event, which was the best event overall for Raley, who led all other Bulldogs. She scored 264.35 to finish in the ninth spot of the 12 divers. She also landed the 15th place of the 25 competitors in the 1-meter dive, with 209.60. In the 3-meter, Raley scored a season-best 341.60, good for 16th place. Paulekas finished in 12th place in the platform (164.85), 16th in the 1-meter (204.75) and 23rd in the 3-meter (179.45). Recupito had her best performance in the platform with an 11th place finish (239.60). She also placed 22nd in the 1-meter (159.20) and in the 3-meter (180.00).
The diving team takes the next two weeks off, before heading to the Brigham Young Diving Invitational in Provo, Utah, Friday, Nov. 30, through Saturday, Dec. 1.
