Golf Rained Out of Final Round

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State finished 10th at the Morris Williams Invitational, held at the Austin Country Club after severe thunderstorms caused cancellation of the third round.
The Austin Country Club thunderstorm meter displays a rating of 1-10, and play is canceled at anything above a rating of 4. The rating this morning was at 9.9, showing severe and dangerous activity.
The Bulldogs will get 10th, with their score of 595. Georgia Tech took both the team and individual titles. The team scored 573 and top individual Bryce Molder scored 67-68-135. Oklahoma State took second with 574 with Oklahoma taking third at 576.
Sophomore Nick Watney turned in the highest Bulldog finish at T5th. Watney claimed his first collegiate top-20 finish on this course last year. Watney shot 71-70-141. The only other Bulldog to finish in the top-25 was freshman Brandon Coats. Coats shot 74-73-147 placing him T25.
Junior Jonathon Echols followed Coats placing T50, shooting 71-80-151. Fellow junior Dustin Smith finished at T73, shooting 79-77-156. Finishing off the Bulldog lineup was sophomore Daniel Timmons making only his third appearance of the season. Timmons shot 88-80-168 finishing 82nd.
The `Dogs next face a road trip to San Jose to compete in the Western Intercollegiate. The tournament will be hosted by San Jose State at the Pasatiempo Golf Course on April 2-3.
