Women's Cross Country Takes Third at Aggie Open

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs took third place with 132 points at the UC Davis Aggie Open on Saturday, Sept. 22. Fresno State had two runners finish in the top-15.
Sophomore Kara June (Santa Maria, Calif.) crossed the finish line first for the 'Dogs in the 5K women's race. She came in 8th with a time of 18:26.3. Senior Olga Gutierrez (Visalia, Calif.) was second on the team, 11th overall, at 18:32.3.
Rounding out Fresno State's top three was sophomore Michelle June (Santa Maria, Calif). She came in 29th with a time of 19:07.8.
Other Bulldog scorers were junior Stacy Esquivel (Visalia, Calif.), 31st with a time of 19:11.0 and freshman Stacy Aurit (Union City, Calif.), 62nd with a time of 19:46.3.
UC Davis won the 22-team women's race with 54 points and had four runners in the top-15. Nevada took second with 93 points. San Jose State finished behind the Bulldogs with 176 points.
Fresno State's next meet is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6, at San Francisco State.
