SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Fresno State swimming and diving competed in its third dual-meet of the season on Friday, Jan. 11, in San Diego, Calif., against host University of San Diego. The Bulldogs were victorious with a convincing score of 152-89.
For the second meet in a row, senior Jesie Lewis led the way for Fresno State. Coming off her two top ten captures at the UC Irvine Invitational last weekend, Lewis again nabbed two with a first place finish in both the 50 (24.72) and 100 freestyle (53.08) events. Fresno State also dominated the relay events by capturing first in both the 400 free (3:34.91) and the 400 medley (4:01.23). The divers also performed well by placing two in the top three in both the 1-meter and 3-meter. Freshman Ashleigh Raley took first in the 3-meter (265.5) and third in the 1-meter (248.40). Freshman Lindsey Paulekas inked second in the 1-meter (250.65) and sophomore Nicole Recupito nabbed the third spot in the 3-meter (227.02). Overall, the Bulldogs finished the meet with nine first place spots of the 13 slated events.
The Bulldogs improve to 5-2 overall in dual-meet competition and now move on to a double-dual meet competition at UC Irvine, Saturday, Jan. 12, against San Diego State and UC Irvine.
