Swimming and Diving Readies for Final Home Meet

FRESNO, Calif. - After a busy weekend of swimming and diving, the Bulldog crew slows its schedule down. The divers will be the only members competing this weekend, as they head to the UCLA Invitational in Los Angeles, Saturday, Jan. 19. The final home meet of the season will take place on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m., versus Oregon State.
Over the past three meets the 'Dogs have improved their record to 5-2, while earning 34 season-bests. At the UC Irvine Daktronics Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 5, Fresno State finished with six top finishes of the 24 events. The Bulldogs combined for a seventh place finish with 76 points in the individual events and a fifth place finish in the distance events with 72 points. Twelve teams competed alongside Fresno State, among them were Colorado State, San Diego State, Wyoming and Nevada.
Fresno State swimming and diving competed in its third dual-meet of the season on Friday, Jan. 11, in San Diego, Calif., against host University of San Diego. The Bulldogs were victorious with a convincing score of 152-89.
Fresno State swimming and diving wrapped up its weekend schedule with a double-dual meet versus San Diego State and host UC Irvine, in Irvine, Calif., Saturday, Jan.12. The Bulldogs defeated UC Irvine, 188-112, but fell to San Diego State, 158-140. San Diego State also defeated UC Irvine 175-125.
Freshman Ashleigh Raley was recognized as the Swimmer/Diver of the Meet for her score of 264.97 in the 3-meter versus UC Irvine and SDSU. The result was also a Fresno State record and worth a first place finish. Her day also included a first place finish in the 1-meter with 248.77.
