Senior outfielder Tobey Riday-White looks to be a key component in Fresno State's success this season. The Berkeley, Calif., native transferred to Fresno State last season from Laney College and came on strong towards to end to cement himself as a regular in the outfield. In the opening series against Santa Clara this year, he matched his home run output from last year in game one with a three-run homer to help the Bulldogs win 8-5.
Q: If you weren't a baseball player, what would you be?
A: A rock star.
Q: If you could be a cartoon character who would you be?
A: Road runner, Barney from the Flintstones or Papa Smurf.
Q: What characteristics make up your ideal opponent?
A: I guess I want my opponent to have qualities of a teammate like tenacity.
Q: If you could invite three people to dinner who would they be?
A: Leonard Peltier, Howard Zinn and Frida Kahlo.
Q: Why did you pick the above people?
A: Peltier for his struggle, Zinn for his mind and Kahlo for her beauty and artistic genius.
Q: List four words to describe yourself.
A: Tenacious, stinky, goofy and provocative.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to?
A: Anything from Mos Def and Talib Kweli to Rage Against the Machine and Van Morrison.
