FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Garry Hill-Thomas scored 21 points as Nevada handed Fresno State its fourth straight Western Athletic Conference loss, 66-57 on Thursday.
Terrance Green added 18 points, and Corey Jackson had 17 points and 15 rebounds for Nevada (13-9, 6-6), which won at Selland Arena for the first time since March 12, 1997.
Melvin Ely, the WAC's leading scorer and rebounder, led Fresno State (14-10, 6-6) with 26 points. He was the only Bulldogs player in double figures.
The Bulldogs' four-game WAC skid is their longest in seven seasons under coach Jerry Tarkanian. By sweeping the season series, Nevada moved into a tie with Fresno State for sixth place in the WAC standings.
Both teams shot just 37 percent from the field, but Nevada shot 21-of-33 from the free throw line compared to 9-of-15 for Fresno State.
Trailing by 13 points early in the second half, the Bulldogs fought back to tie the game at 49-49 with 7:05 remaining on a spinning hook by Ely.
From there, Nevada went on a 13-2 run to seal the victory. Jackson scored eight points during the surge, including two on an up-and-under move that gave the Wolf Pack a 62-51 lead with 2:08 left.
Nevada led 37-25 at halftime, limiting the Bulldogs to 28.6 percent shooting. Green led the Wolf Pack with 14 points, including 4-of-8 from 3-point range.
Fresno State played its third straight game without Chris Jefferies, the team's second leading scorer. Jefferies, sidelined with a knee injury, is questionable for Sunday's nationally televised game against Oklahoma State.
