Golf Team in Fourth Place at BYU Cougar Classic

Fresno, Calif- - Fresno State completed the two rounds of play today in the Cougar Classic at the Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah. The team played 36 holes Friday and will play a final round on Saturday. The course is a Par 72 and it is 7,001 yards. There was a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Fresno State finished fourth out of 15 teams with 570.
The "One-Two Punch" is at it again as both junior Nick Watney (Dixon, Calif.) and senior Jonathan Echols (Hanford, Calif.) completed both rounds today under par. Watney is 10 under par and in first place. He shot 68-66-134. Echols is second and shot 67-70-137.
Freshman Ryan Carter (Hacienda Heights, Calif.) shot 73-74-147. Senior Dustin Smith (Crescent City, Calif.) shot 75-77-152. Sophomore Chad Spencer (Rocklin Calif.) shot 78-77-155.
Fresno State will play one more round at BYU Saturday and then in the WAC Championship at the Turtle Bay Resort Fazio Course April 25-27.
