Golf Finishes Seventh in Inverness Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State finished seventh in the Inverness Invitational, completed today in Toledo, Ohio.
The Bulldogs finished with a score of 896 (291-300-305), 18 stokes behind tournament champion, Florida. The top five Bulldogs that played were senior Nick Watney (Dixon, Calif.), junior Chad Spencer (Rocklin, Calif.), sophomore Ryan Carter (Hacienda Heights, Calif.), sophomore Tony Harmon, (Upland, Calif.) and freshman Ryan McDonald.
Watney took first individually out of 75 players with a score of 215 (70-71-74). It is his second top three finish of the young season. The senior was second at the Topy Cup on Sept. 5.
Among the other Bulldogs, Spencer finished 22nd with a score of 225 (72-76-77), McDonald took 29th with a score of 227 (74-78-75), Carter finished 37th with a score of 229 (74-76-79) and Harmon finished 73rd with a final score of 245 (84-79-82).
Fresno State's next tournament will be the Fresno Lexus Classic at San Joaquin Country Club on Oct. 11-12.
