Volleyball Records Sixth Consecutive Three-Game Sweep

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State continued its success in three-game contests by sweeping its sixth consecutive opponent with a 30-14, 30-11, 30-19 victory over Nicholls State in tournament play in its own invitational.
The Bulldogs, who hit a season-high .419 along with a team-high nine blocks, improved to 2-0 in the tournament as the 'Dogs were led by redshirt freshman middle blocker Andrea Thrower, who had a match-high 11 kills with an ace, two digs and a pair of blocks.
Junior middle blocker Carrie Hartt was next with nine kills while sophomore outside hitter Kristen Fenton and senior outside hitter Christy Burnett each had eight kills. Hartt tallied a match-high six blocks while Fenton led all players with 17 digs.
All 14 Bulldog players saw action in this match as Amanda Magalei, La'akea Campbell and Briana Rempel each recorded their first kills as a Bulldog.
Game one's offense was evenly dispersed as six Bulldogs had at least two kills a piece. In the second game, Hartt notched seven kills and hit .583 with four blocks to pace the 'Dogs. In game three, Thrower totaled six kills and hit .364 to seal the victory.
Fresno State (6-0) will put its six-match win streak on the line tonight when it hosts No. 19 UC Santa Barbara in the final game of the tournament.
