Equestrian Takes Second in IHSA Show

FRESNO, Calif.- The equestrian team hosted their third show of the season and came out with a Reserve Championship title. The 'Dogs hosted an English/Western IHSA show this past Sunday and competed against six schools: Bakersfield, Cal Poly, Davis, Reno, Santa Cruz, and Stanford.
In Western, in the Open Stock Seat, Jessica Frazier, first, Taylor Mason, second, Jennifer Levenfeld, sixth, and Christy Webb seventh. In Advanced II, Katie Geyer, first and aja Jordan, second. In Advanced I, tephanie Reeves, first and atie Wagner, third. In Intermediate II Section A, Lori McPeters, first, Andrea Crisp, seventh, and Nikole Bingaman, fifth. In Section B, Erin Lange, first and Tiffany Washington, fifth. In Reining, Taylor Mason, first, Jennifer Levenfeld, fourth, and Jessica Frazier, seventh. In Walk/Jog, Becky Warmerdam, second. In the overall Western competition, Fresno State captured the High Point Championship title with 27 points.
In English, Open Fences, Michelle Tonello, third. In Intermediate Open Fences and Open Equitationon Flat, Dawn McIntosh, first. Amy Simmons took second in Intermediate Open Fences. In Novice Fences, Amanda Hancock, first, Ashley Chapman, second, and Erin Lange, fourth. In Intermediate Equitation on the Flat, Amy Simmons, first. In Novice Equitation Section A, Emily Brown, first, Leyla Mundy, second, and Pam Cullip fourth. In Section B, Ashley Owens, first, Amanda Smith, third, and Ashley Chapman, fifth. In Advanced Walk Trot Section A,Emily Holl, first and Erin Saunders, fifth. In Section B, Brianna Mastel, first. In Walk Trot, Amber Jones, first. In the overall English competition, Fresno State grabbed the championship with 42 points, the highest ever in total points in the English competition in the seven years Fresno State Equestrian has been around.
The 'Dog's next action will be this weekend when they travel to Cal Poly to compete in the rescheduled show from Jan. 11. This show consists of English and Western.
