FRESNO, Calif. - Fourth-seeded Chloe Carlotti was once again upset in the Riviera All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif., ending the tournament for the Bulldog junior.
This time, it was 34th-ranked Megan Bradley of Miami (Fla.) who surprised Fresno State's two-time All-American. Bradley defeated Carlotti 7-5, 6-2 in the first round of the consolation singles bracket.
The Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships (its counterpart, the Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championships, takes place in Chattanooga, Tenn., at the same time), the Nov. 6-9 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, and the year-end NCAA Championships are college tennis' three national championship events during the season.
The premier hard court event of the fall collegiate season, the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships feature the top players in NCAA Division I tennis.
Next up for the Fresno State women's tennis team is the Saint Mary's Invitational, which takes place Oct. 17-19 in Moraga, Calif.
