EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Luke Jackson scored 20 points and Andre Joseph had 15 to lead Oregon to an 80-67 win over Fresno State in the season opener Friday.
Ian Crosswhite added 13 points and Mitch Platt 12 for the Ducks, who connected on 14 three-pointers - two short of tying the school record.
Jackson had five of the three-pointers. He also had eight rebounds and six assists.
Shantay Legans scored 20 for the Bulldogs (0-1), while Jonathan Woods had 18.
Ten of Oregon's 3-pointers came in the first half as it built a 12-point lead at the break. A 14-0 run early in the second half put the Ducks up by 22, though they still had to withstand a late comeback by the Bulldogs.
The Ducks have won 12 straight season openers and 22 consecutive nonconference home games.
Jackson led the way early, making four threes in the opening 6:30 as Oregon took a 22-10 lead. The Bulldogs heated up and pulled to within three with 5:30 left in the half.
Oregon's Andre Joseph answered with a pair of 3-pointers and a layup to put the Ducks up 36-26. Brandon Lincoln and James Davis then connected on two more 3-pointers as Oregon ended the half with a 42-30 lead.
Fresno State scored the first five points of the second half, but then it was all Oregon as Platt scored eight of his points to extend the lead to 56-35.
The Bulldogs gradually reduced the lead to five with 2:50 left, but Crosswhite hit two free throws and Lincoln added a the back-breaker, a three-pointer to seal the win.
The loss snapped Fresno State's streak of seven consecutive wins in openers.
Fresno State returns to action Nov. 29 with a game at Santa Clara. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
