Winterhalter Named WAC Women's Tennis Player of the Month

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's Kathrin Winterhalter has been named October's Western Athletic Conference women's tennis player of the month.
Winterhalter, a sophomore from Clovis, Calif., reached the semifinals of the Saint Mary's Invitational and the round of 16 at the ITA Northwest Regionals. Winterhalter had her best success in doubles. Along with partner Lucia Sainz, she captured the doubles crown at the Saint Mary's Invitational. She also advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles at the ITA Regionals.
This fall, Winterhalter has won 10 of 11 doubles matches and has notched two tournament victories.
Winterhalter is coming off a very successful freshman campaign in which he was one of only two Bulldogs two win 20 singles matches. In doubles, she was also solid, going 10-4 with Sainz.
