HOUSTON (AP) - Michael Harris scored 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds as hot-shooting Rice beat short-handed Fresno State 92-71 Saturday night.
The Owls (19-9, 11-7 WAC) shot 56 percent from the field, including 59 percent from the 3-point line.
Fresno State (20-8, 13-5) continued its difficult week after declaring itself ineligible for postseason play on Monday. It marked the Bulldogs' second loss of this week and just the first time this year they have lost back-to-back games.
The Bulldogs shot just 38 percent from the field, led by Jonathan Woods' 15 points. Damon Jackson added 14 and Travis DeManby had 10.
Rice got 16 points from Omar-Seli Mance, who went 4-of-7 on 3-pointers. Brock Gillespie added 13 points. He went 3-of-4 on 3-pointers.
The Owls were 20-of-21 from the free throw line.
