Krohn Named WAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State's Alex Krohn has been named the Western Athletic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week.
Krohn, a junior from Santa Rosa, Calif., defeated Jorgen Vestli 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6 singles to clinch the Bulldogs' 4-3 win over South Alabama. Krohn also added a win with partner Andy Sinn to clinch Fresno State's doubles point.
The win extended the Bulldogs' winning streak to seven matches, the team's longest since the 1999-00 season.
Krohn is now 14-9 (8-4 dual) on the dual season, including 4-0 at No. 6.
Other nominees included: Rodrigo Gabriel of Rice and Ryan Livesay of Tulsa.
Fresno State closes out the regular season this weekend with three home matches. The Bulldogs host No. 26 Pepperdine on Friday at 2 p.m. then on Saturday take on Cal Poly at 9 a.m. and Nevada at 2 p.m.
