| Wrestler Marcio Botelho has been named the gobulldogs.com athlete of the week for the week of Nov. 22-28. A senior from Lemoore, Calif., Botelho won the 197-pound bracket at the Fullerton Open last Saturday. Botelho won all of his matches at the tournament, including a 6-4 upset victory over the No. 5 wrestler at 197 in the country, Ryan Bader of Arizona State. One of four Bulldogs ranked in the top 20, Botelho has risen to No. 4 in the most recent rankings from Wrestling International Newsmagazine, as a result of this victory. Botelho also won the Fullerton Open in 2002, when he was an All-American. His overall record now stands at 5-0 heading into the wrestling team's first dual of the year against the host of the tournament, Cal State Fullerton.
