FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Athletics Department has announced that Applebee's Restaurants are helping to support Fresno State football by donating 2 percent of its gift card sales from Dec. 13-19 toward the team as it prepares for the MPC Computers Bowl on Dec. 27 in Boise, Idaho.
Gift cards may be purchased at any Applebee's restaurant in Fresno or Clovis.
In addition to the proceeds, for every purchase of $1000 or more in gift cards at one time, Applebee's will donate an extra $100 in cards to the individual or organization that purchased them.
But it's the opportunity to support the Bulldogs that Applebee's hopes will enhance the excitement already felt in the Valley for the MPC Computers Bowl game, in which Fresno State will take on 18th-ranked Virginia.
"We wanted to find a way to partner with our community and support our favorite neighborhood football team while out shopping and dining for the holidays," said John Costello, Director of Operations for Applebee's.
Applebee's gift cards never expire and can be used at over 1600 Applebee's worldwide.
