Ja'Vance Coleman's big weekend for the Fresno State men's basketball team earned him honors as Toyota/gobulldogs.com Student-Athlete of the Week. The sophomore from Fresno helped the Bulldogs win twice last week to improve the team's record to 4-0. On Friday, he led all scorers with 20 points as Fresno State defeated Grand Canyon 63-53 in a McCaffrey Classic contest. But it was in the McCaffrey title game that he was truly impressive. Coleman had the best performance of his young career, scoring a game-high 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for his first ever double-double. He also dished out six assists in a 80-65 victory over Mississippi Valley State. On the year, Coleman is averaging 17.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists, all of which rank in the WAC top 10 in those categories.
