Bulldogs Announce 2004 Summer Volleyball Camp Dates

Fresno State is offering a week of volleyball camps in late July for girls and boys, ages 9-18, in the North Gym on the campus of Fresno State.

Under the direction of the Fresno State volleyball coaching staff as well as assistance from the Bulldogs, camps and clinics are slated for July 19-25. All camps and clinics are open to the general public and will focus on skill development and position.

The first camp offered is the Bulldog All Skills Camp, which runs July 19-22. Opened to those who are 9-14 years old, this camp will focus on skill development and position.

There will be three clinics held from July 24-25. On July 24, Fresno State will host a Hitter's Clinic and a Setter's Clinic for those who are 13-18 years of age. The Setter's Clinic will be limited to 15 athletes, only. The Defensive Clinic will be the following day for the same age group.

The focus of these camps and clinics are to improve basic skills in every phase of the game with special attention given to setting, passing, serving, blocking, hitting, defensive skills and offensive and defensive team play. Each participant will receive a free camp T-shirt and outstanding instruction.

Back from last year is the Bulldog Satellite Camps. High school and middle school teams may request the Bulldog coaching staff to run a single or multi-day camp at their respective place.

On-line registration is being offered this year. The general public may visit Fresno State's official athletic web site at www.gobulldogs.com to sing up and download an application form. The deadline for admittance to any of the Fresno State volleyball camps/clinics is July 7.
