Equestrian Completes Varsity Championships In Fifth

CONYERS, Ga. - Fresno State recorded a fifth-place finish at the Varsity Equestrian Championships this weekend, ahead of South Carolina in sixth, Kansas State in seventh and Sacred Heart in eighth.
Georgia claimed the championship title, followed by Auburn in second, Oklahoma State in third and Texas A&M in fourth.
Fresno State finished eighth in the English competition, with Georgia capturing first, Auburn second and Sacred Heart third. Oklahoma State and Texas A&M tied for fourth, while South Carolina was sixth and Stonehill College seventh.
Individually, Bulldog senior Dawn McIntosh was seventh in Equitation on the Flat Section A, junior Leyla Mundy was reserve in Section B and senior Amanda Hancock finished fifth in Section D.
In the Western competition, Oklahoma State nabbed first, followed by Georgia in second and Auburn in third. Texas A&M finished fourth, Fresno State fifth, Kansas State sixth and West Texas A&M and South Carolina tied for seventh.
In the individual Western competition, senior Lisa Moser finished third in Reining Section A and senior Laine Hendricks was third in Section B.
The 'Dogs return to action May 6-9 when they travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn., to compete at the IHSA National Finals.
