FRESNO, Calif. - Saturday's football game between Fresno State and Portland State is expected to be sold out, and fans interested in purchasing tickets are urged to do so as soon as possible to avoid long lines or getting shut out at the ticket window on game day.
As of Thursday at 4 p.m., nearly 38,000 tickets had been sold to the home opener, which is set to begin at 7 p.m. At the rate tickets are being sold, the game could be sold out by Saturday morning.
"This is a very exciting time for our football program," Athletics Director Scott Johnson said. "The way the fans of the Valley have responded to our 2-0 start is terrific to see. Our team is going to experience the packed, enthusiastic Bulldog Stadium they deserve after two big wins."
Fresno State is coming off road victories over Washington and No. 13 Kansas State. The Bulldogs entered the national rankings this week at No. 19 in the AP poll and No. 20 in the coaches' poll.
There are several ways to purchase either season or single-game passes:
In addition, Fresno State is offering a "Rest of the Season" ticket plan on Saturday night only. Tickets to the four remaining home games, plus a chance to reserve a seat for next year, will be available for just $79. This offer is good for Saturday night only.
Fans need only fill out a Valley Value Upgrade Card that will be distributed by ushers and at concession stands. Bring the card and a Portland State ticket stub to the ticket office after the first quarter and those in attendance may order as many of the unsold public tickets as they want.
This offers fans the best and most price-efficient way to ensure they will have tickets to the Bulldogs' remaining home games.
Fresno State averaged 38,603 fans last season, the fifth-highest average in school history. The capacity of Bulldog Stadium is 41,031.
