Volleyball Sweeps Past UNLV

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State volleyball team improved to 2-0 in its own tournament after collecting a three-game victory against UNLV late this afternoon at the North Gym.
The Bulldogs were paced by sophomore outside hitter Tuli Peters, who had a match-high 14 kills and a team-best 12 digs with three blocks in the win.
Freshman outside hitter Christianna Reneau chipped in 12 kills, eight digs and had two blocks while freshman libero Yuko Mori had 11 digs. In addition, junior middle blocker Lauren Howell tallied a match-best eight blocks.
Fresno State (6-3) hit .203 overall while UNLV was limited to .157. The Bulldogs dominated at the net by outblocking the Rebels, 10-5.
UNLV (4-4) was led by Mariana Pencheva and Maria Aladjova as they each totaled 12 kills. Jada Walker had a match-high 17 digs for the Rebels.
The Bulldogs continue tournament play tonight with a 7:30 p.m. match up against San Diego State.
