Fresno State (11-3, 3-2 WAC) snaps a two-game losing streak with the win and improves to 7-0 on the road. The Bulldogs have now won 10 straight road games dating back to last season. Boise State falls to 5-8 overall and 0-4 in conference action.
In a game that featured a combined 40 turnovers (20 by both teams), Fresno State took advantage of its inside tandem of Parrish and Lane. Both post players enjoyed success in the paint, as Boise State was playing without starting center Michelle Hessing (injury). The Broncos also received little help from two of its top scoring threats: Cassidy Blaine (2-7, 5 points) and Jamie Hawkins (2-8, 4 points). The Broncos were led by Tasha Harris with 16 points.
Both teams were cold from beyond the arc, with the Bulldogs making 4-22 chances while the Broncos connected on 6-22. However, Fresno State shot 41.4-percent overall compared to Boise State's 33.3-percent clip. The `Dogs also held a 42-37 rebounding edge.
The Bulldogs led 28-24 at halftime, holding the Broncos to 29.2-percent first half shooting. Fresno State stretched its lead to as many as eight points, going up 17-9 following the second of two three-pointers from Kendra Walker-Roche. Boise State cut the lead down to two twice in the final four minutes.
Fresno State's biggest lead of the game came in the second half, as a lay-up from Lane made it 47-35 with 8:24 left to play. The Bulldogs maintained a six-point lead for the remainder of the contest.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a road game at UTEP on Saturday, Jan. 15. Tip-off is set for 5:05 p.m. PST.
