| Men¹s golfer Mark Modglin was named Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week after leading Fresno State to its first tournament victory of the season. Modglin, a junior from Simi Valley, Calif., claimed the individual tournament title for the first time in his career at the BYU Cougar Classic on April 23. After shooting two of the lowest rounds of his career, Modglin (66-64-72) notched a 202 total to finish 14-under, one stroke ahead of teammate Ryan Carter. He competed against golfers from top-ranked BYU and Colorado State. He helped Fresno State to an overall 820 (-44) to finish eight strokes ahead of second-place finisher BYU. Modglin was named the WAC Men¹s Golfer of the Week for April 18-24. Fresno State next competes in the WAC Championships May 2-4 in Ruston, La.
