Men's Golf Tied for Sixth at WAC Championship

FRESNO, Calif. - After one round of play at the WAC Championship being held at the par-72 Squire Creek Golf Course in Choudrant, La., Fresno State stands in a tie for sixth with San Jose State after shooting 314 (+26). Tulsa is in first with 301, Nevada and Rice are tied for second with 306, SMU is in fourth with 309 and host Louisiana Tech is in fifth with 313.
Ryan McDonald was the top Bulldog on the course Monday, shooting 76 to stand in a tie for 12th. Mark Modglin is in a tie for 17th after notching 78. Brian Kelley and Jon Rosa both shot 80 to tie for 26th. Ryan Carter registered 81 for a 32nd place tie.
Sam Korbe of Tulsa shot 71 to claim the lead as of the end of the first round. There are 50 golfers from 10 WAC schools competing.
