Senior Katie Christianson has been named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for May 25-31. The honor is the first of Christianson's career and the third for a track and field athlete this year. Making her postseason debut, Christianson recorded a personal-best mark of 20-3 (6.17m) in the long jump last weekend at the NCAA West Regionals in Eugene, Ore., to finish first in her flight and fifth overall. That distance was enough to award her a berth in the NCAA Championships, scheduled for June 8-11 in Sacramento, Calif. A gold medalist at the WAC Outdoor Championships, Christianson was the only Fresno State athlete to advance to the next round on the opening day of NCAA Regionals. Entering this weekend, Christianson's career-best stood at 19-7.25 (5.98m). Her career-best mark ties her for third-best in school history. Christianson joins Lexine Lesser and Ryan Moore as track and field recipients of the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week award this year.
