Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Elco CSUB Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State moved up to finish fourth at the Elco CSUB Invitational Tuesday with rounds of 299-292-293 - 884. Arizona claimed the tournament title with 859, CSU Bakersfield came in second with 861 and British Columbia took third place with 879.
Redshirt freshman Brian Ward (75-71-67 - 213) shot a 5-under 67 in the third round to finish tied for second with a 213 total. Ward finished two strokes behind winner David Stewart of British Columbia. Senior Jason Anthony (72-73) registered 74 Tuesday to come in 15th with 219. Nick McClintock (76-73-75) finished in 22nd place with 224. Senior Gunnar Avinelis carded rounds of 76-75-77 to finish in 34th with 228, and Mark Pryor (81-80-83) shot a third-round 83 to end in 75th with 244.
Fresno State next plays in the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate Sept. 16-17 at The Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
