FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State (297-290-289 - 876) bettered its score in each round at the Wolf Pack Classic to finish in 11th and place one golfer in the top 10. Host Nevada won the team title with 852, New Mexico State placed second with 854 and Arkansas came in third with 856.
Jon Rosa (70-73-67) shot a 5-under 67 in the third round to finish ninth with 210. Ryan McDonald placed 52nd with rounds of 74-71-78 - 223. Jason Anthony (73-74-78) and Mark Modglin (83-72-70) both tied for 62nd with 225 each, and Brian Ward finished 97th with rounds of 80-81-74 - 235. Matt Shaw (75-77-81), playing as an individual, tied for 89th with 233.
Matt Bortis of Arkansas claimed the individual title with 206.
Fresno State next competes in the Alister Mackenzie Invitational Oct. 10-11.
