Fresno, Calif. - The Western Athletic Conference released the Academic All-WAC teams for the fall of 2005, and Fresno State Volleyball was represented by seven athletes. That is the most ever for the Volleyball program since the award has been given.
The seven athletes selected was also the second-most of any volleyball program in the WAC, just one behind Hawai'i, who had eight players honored. The Bulldogs' seven athletes were just a part of the 37 total athletes honored for the fall, the most of any school in the conference.
"As a team, we had a very strong semester academically," said head coach Ruben Nieves. "It's great to see so many of our players receive this type of honor."
In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA and participated in 50% of their team's contests. Below is the list of Fresno State's volleyball players honored for the 2005 fall season.
