Fresno State places 14th at Nevada Wolfpack Classic

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State men's golf finishes the Nevada Wolfpack Classic in 14th place. The Bulldogs (295-291-295) in their second tournament of the year had a total score of 881. Iowa (842) clinched the title with Utah (849) trailing in second. Colorado State (855) took third, Nevada (866) took fifth and Denver (867) rounded out the top five.
Matt Shaw (74-68-76) and freshman Brad Wyatt (72-75-71) both led the Bulldogs in a tie for 30th (218/+2). This was Wyatt's second collegiate tournament along with Grant Doverspike who (223/+7) tied for 61st. Sophomore Matt Ryan (224/+8) out of Santa Clara, Calif. tied for 66th. Todd Angel shot a total of 234 to tie for 90th. Gunnar Avinelis (226) tied for 75th playing as an individual as well as Mark Pryor (240) who took 95th.
The Bulldogs will head to Faifax, Calif. October 9-10 for the Alister Mackenzie Invitational.
