March Madness!!!
Well, what an emotional roller coaster ride it has been! The regular season is over, the conference tournament has come and gone and we've still got one more chance to make history. Last night we found out that we qualified for the Postseason WNIT. For all of us it was a sigh of relief as we desperately search for a way to fix what happened in Reno last week.
Now we are looking forward to a home game match-up against Big West powerhouse UC Santa Barbara. It will be a tough contest but we are more than ready for a challenge and are willing to play anyone just to get back out on that court and redeem ourselves. Our coaches have prepared and worked with us all season long to be where we are. Usually for a Fresno State women's basketball team, our time would usually have come to an end already, but thankfully all our hard work has paid off and we have another chance to show America why we are a great basketball team.
This is why we all love March Madness. Right now there's nowhere else in the world I'd rather be or nothing else I'd rather be doing. It's the prime time of sports and I know for all you crazy Bulldog fans out there, you are excited for this time of the year. It's a time to see players diving for loose balls, someone hitting a big three, post players grabbing rebounds, point guards leading the way and most importantly you get to see the heart and soul of every team. This is the time we get to show you what we have worked for all year long. This is what all the blood, sweat and tears are all about. From now on there's no looking back. It's a do-or-die situation for everyone, but that's the beauty of sport - anybody can win!
This game is a big one for Fresno State women's basketball and we hope that you can come and see us play some brilliant Bulldog basketball this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Save Mart Center.
Go `Dogs!!!
