Fresno State Takes Fifth at Oregon Duck Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State (932) shot rounds of 311-309-312 at the Oregon Duck Invitational to finish fifth while placing all of its golfers in the top half of the tournament field.
Sophomore Laura Luethke (71-74-77), who held the lead after the second round, tied for third with a 222 total. She missed the individual playoff by one shot. This tournament marks her fourth top-10 finish of the year.
"Laura was disappointed that she didn't make it to the playoff, but she is gaining momentum and is definitely having a good spring season," head coach Angie Cates said.
Freshman Jennifer Shipley (234) tied for 17th after shooting rounds of 81-76-77. Senior Adrianna Chico (78-78-82) ended in 30th with 238. Junior Brittany Cooley (81-81-82) and freshman Taylor Siebert (84-84-76) both came in 42nd with 244 totals.
San Jose State won the team title with 918, Oregon State placed second with 919 and Idaho came in third with 923.
Fresno State next competes in the Peg Bernard Invitational April 8-9 in Stanford, Calif.
