
Bulldogs Fall to Texas Christian, 5-2

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team fell 5-2 to No. 13 TCU, Sunday in Fort Worth. It was the third match in four days for the Bulldogs, losing to Baylor on Thursday and beating Texas A&M on Saturday. Fresno State is now 6-5 on the season.
The Bulldogs won the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches, highlighted by seventh-ranked Lucia Sainz and Katharina Winterhalter's victory over No. 8 Besovic and Sydorska.
TCU however, was too strong in singles, winning five of the six singles matches. Freshman Melanie Gloria was the only winner for Fresno State, defeating Nicole Leimbach, ranked fourth in the NCAA, at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 7-6 (8), (10-6). It is the second time that Gloria has beaten the No. 4 player in the country. She last beat Alice Barnes of Stanford when Barnes was ranked fourth in late January.
The Bulldogs return to action this when they host William and Mary at 1:30 p.m. on Wed., Mar. 8 in the Wathen Tennis Center.
