Bulldogs Two Strokes Off Lead at WAC Championship

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State shot a second-round 294 on Tuesday at the Western Athletic Conference Championship to maintain its second-place standing with a 15-over 583 total. The Bulldogs trail leader New Mexico State by two strokes heading into the final round.
Brian Kelley shot an even 71 and is in third place with a 143 total. Kelley's second round included one eagle, two birdies and one bogey on the front nine. He trails the individual leaders by two strokes.
Jason Anthony (72-74) is tied for sixth with 146, and Matt Shaw is tied for ninth with 73-74 - 147. Jonny Rosa's 148 total is good for 15th place, and Ryan McDonald is tied for 25th with 76-75 - 151.
"We got off to a very good start this morning, but ended up giving away a lot of strokes at the end," said head coach Mike Watney.
Host Boise State moved up to third and is three strokes behind Fresno State with 586. Hawaii is fourth with 588.
