Fresno, Calif. - Steve Susdorf has been selected as the Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, as announced by the conference office today. The award covers the week of May 1-7.
Susdorf, a sophomore from Newhall, Calif., hit .600 (6-for-10) in a three-game sweep of Nevada last week. On Friday, he was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, scored three runs on Saturday and was 3-for-4 on Sunday, had four RBI and was a home run short of the cycle. For the week, he drove in eight, scored six runs and was walked twice.
This is the third time that Susdorf has won the award this season, previously winning the award for his work against UCLA as well as two weeks ago against San Jose State. Three Bulldogs have won the award this season, as both shortstop Christian Vitters and third baseman Beau Mills have also won the award.
