| - Senior goalkeeper Angie Larsen has been named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 29. The honor is the first of the year both for the soccer team and the athletic program as a whole. Stonewalling two opponents last weekend, Larsen logged 180 minutes of playing time and turned in two shutout performances as the Bulldogs opened the season 2-0 with wins over San Francisco and Cal State Northridge. Larsen made a career-high eight saves against San Francisco and chipped in three more for eleven saves on the weekend. Her efforts against the Dons and the Matadors were also recognized by the conference, as Larsen was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week as well. This marks the second time that Larsen has been named the gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week. Larsen also earned the honor in 2005 after again turning in two shutouts in one weekend against Idaho and Boise State. The Athlete of the Week award will be announced every Wednesday through the remainder of the 2006-07 athletic year.
