Fresno, Calif. - With the first telecast of the Bulldog Sports Network scheduled for Saturday from Washington's Husky Stadium, the Fresno State athletics department announced today that a new pre-game show, the Bulldog Blitz, will precede all 2006 BSN football broadcasts.
The Bulldog Blitz will begin at 3 p.m. on KFRE CW 59 (Comcast Cable channel 5) and will be hosted live from Husky Stadium. The Bulldog Blitz will air 30 minutes before the BSN broadcast. KFRE will be the only place Bulldog fans in the Valley can watch the game over the air or via Comcast Cable.
"The Bulldog Blitz pre-game show is just another way to add value to our over BSN telecast for our viewers and our advertisers" said Steve Sullivan, General Manager of Bulldog Sports Properties.
Hosting the Bulldog Blitz will be KMPH/KFRE Sports Director Ralph Wood and BSN analyst Randy Rosenbloom. They will breakdown the Fresno State vs. Washington contest and provide an inside look into the Fresno State football program.
Among the features on the Bulldog Blitz show, will be a segment where fans can ask questions of Wood and Rosenbloom about the Bulldog program or the upcoming game.
"I am very happy we will be able to expand our game-day coverage with the Bulldog Blitz, said Wood. "This will provide fans with a better "feel" for the games. It gives us the opportunity to really set the scene for each game televised on KFRE-59 and the Bulldog Sports Network with a live pre-game show from each venue. I am particularly excited about the segment that will allow our viewers to get directly involved in the telecast by asking questions, via the internet, that we will answer live on the air."
Saturday's game at Washington is the first of four consecutive games that will be shown on BSN. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
"We are in a television age when we just get to the game and not give the viewers an opportunity to get the details they need prior to kickoff," said Rosenbloom. "With the Bulldog Blitz we are now taking the necessary step to give the Valley fans the information they need and want on game day to draw them even closer to the team."
