Fresno State Takes Seventh at Salbasgeon Suites Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's golf takes seventh out of 17 teams at the Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. After shooting a 302 the first two rounds the Bulldogs finished the third round with a 301 for a total score of 905. Denver (878/+14) won the tournament convincingly with UC Davis (894/+30) taking second.
Jennifer Shipley (76-74-73 -223) led the Bulldogs after shooting a 73 in the third round to tie for 11th. Pia Escandon (76-72-76 - 224) finished close behind tied for 14th shooting 8-over. Laura Luethke (74-76-77 - 227) tied for 25th shooting 11-over. Tiffany Veerkamp (76-80-79 - 235) tied for 52nd and Taylor Siebert (78-85-75 - 238) tied for 64th.
Fresno State's women's golf has moved up in the rankings from 55 to 34 in the Golf Week rankings.
The Bulldogs play next on Oct. 2-3 at the Heather Farr/ Colorado Memorial in Boulder, Colo.
