| - Junior Running Back Dwayne Wright has been named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 4. The honor is the first of the year for Wright as well as for the football program. Wright was the driving force in a 28-19 conference win over Nevada in the season opener for football last Friday. Wright gained 158 yards on 26 carries, and scored three touchdowns on the ground as Fresno State opened the season 1-0. Among Wright's carries were a 40-yard touchdown run as well as the final touchdown in the fourth quarter. Along with this award, Wright was also named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week, earning the first award given by the conference this season. The Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week award will be announced every Wednesday through the remainder of the 2006-07 athletic year.
