FRESNO, Calif. - Bulldog Foundation Annual Fund Board has announced its officers for the coming year and long-time BDF member and volunteer John Wallace will serve as president for 2007-08.
Wallace becomes the 43rd President in the history of the Bulldog Foundation. Wallace, a news anchor at KGPE CBS 47, is in his fifth decade of communication and community service for the Fresno area. He replaces Hank Smith, who is departing as BDF annual fund president after his one-year term expires.
"As our spring sports seasons get underway, hundreds of Bulldog Foundation annual fund ambassadors are preparing to renew memberships and welcome new friends to the Bulldog cause," Wallace said. "Never before has our effort been so critical to the overall success of the athletic program. The Foundation's primary cause for 57 years has been to raise funds to provide scholarship opportunities for hundreds of young student-athletes who proudly wear Bulldog uniforms. Thousands have benefited, and many have remained in our community as active and successful citizens. I encourage everyone to continue to show your tremendous support."
Other officers for the 2007-08 fund drive include First Vice President Rob Saroyan, Fund Drive Vice President Curtis Stubblefield and Secretary/Treasurer Andy Polterock.
The Bulldog Foundation's Annual Fund Board of Trustees has conducted fund raising efforts toward student-athlete scholarships for the past 56 years.
"It is well documented that John Wallace has long been committed to public service throughout our community and we truly appreciate his willingness to once again provide his leadership as we embark on this year's Bulldog Foundation Annual Fund Drive," said Thomas Boeh, Director of Athletics.
The BDF will hold its annual four week fund drive in April and May.
